Comment on the Draft Amendment to the MPO LRTP
I am writing to express my strong support for designating $190 million in MPO funding in the Draft Amendment to the Boston MPO's Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) to construct the final leg of the Medford Branch of the Green Line Extension, from College Avenue in Medford to Mystic Valley Parkway (Route 16) on the Medford/Somerville line.
Continuing the Green Line Extension to Route 16 has tremendous community support because it will serve thousands of additional residents, improve air quality, and reduce traffic congestion. Thousands of people who live in walking distance to the Route 16 station will use the Green Line to access jobs, health care, education, recreation, and entertainment.
Thank you for your commitment to this vitally important project.
